Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc airport, operated by VINCI Airports, differs in kind from Geneva or Lyon: you land already in Savoie. The run to Courchevel is therefore one of the shortest we operate.

Why a short run needs more precision, not less

It is counter-intuitive, but a short journey leaves less room to absorb a setback. On a long run, ten minutes lost at the start dilute. On a short one they remain ten minutes, and they weigh proportionally more on your plans for the day — arriving before a reception opens, a key handover window, a first meal booked.

That is why, on this run, we are as interested in what happens before and after the road as in the road itself: how long to clear the terminal, what constraint applies at the arrival address, what schedule is waiting for you in resort.

At the other end: the Saint-Bon valley

Courchevel occupies a valley of its own and forms its own commune of Savoie. The name covers several stepped levels, and the full address decides the approach. On a short run, going to the wrong level is a significant share of the total time.

If your flight cannot land

It is a fair question for a mountain airport, and we will not pretend it never arises. Our job then is not to observe: it is to reorganise. Depending on the situation that may mean collecting you from another arrival point, or picking you up from Chambéry-Challes-les-Eaux railway station. Tell us as soon as you know.

What the figures on this page are worth

The distance and journey time shown are measured on the public road network, from the Chambéry terminal to the resort’s public reference point — its tourist office — never to your accommodation. The time is free-flowing driving, excluding winter conditions: on a short run it gives the order of magnitude, it promises nothing. Traffic, weather and changeover Saturday move it, and it is your actual exit from the terminal that sets the pick-up.
