Private transfers to Val d’Isère

Val d’Isère stands at 1,850 m, at the head of the Haute-Tarentaise — the upper Isère valley, beyond Bourg-Saint-Maurice. It is not part of the 3 Vallées: with Tignes it forms its own linked ski area, “Tignes – Val d’Isère”, the former Espace Killy, 300 km of piste according to the resorts. For an arrival, that geography matters more than the name.

The end of the road

From the valley, Val d’Isère is reached by the D902, the mountain road that leaves Bourg-Saint-Maurice — about 40 minutes according to the tourist office. Beyond the village the same road crosses the Col de l’Iseran towards the Maurienne, but only in appearance in winter: the pass is closed from autumn to early summer, and the resort is then a dead end with no through traffic. What goes up on a Saturday comes back down the same road.

The village stretches over several kilometres: La Daille at the entrance, the centre and its quarters — Le Crêt, Le Joseray, Le Châtelard — then Le Laisinant and Le Fornet at the foot of the pass. We ask for the full address at booking, hamlet included: it decides the final stretch.

What winter and Saturday change

Savoie requires winter equipment from 1 November to 31 March, and the tourist office itself reminds visitors that fitting the vehicle is compulsory to reach Val d’Isère. The French traffic authority (Bison Futé) rates February Saturdays red in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, with official advice to avoid the RN90 between Albertville and Moûtiers from 9am to 7pm; the resort recommends shifting your arrival or departure on holiday Saturdays. We set the pick-up against your flight, then adjust it on the day.

Val d’Isère can currently be booked from Geneva; the nearest station is Bourg-Saint-Maurice, served in winter by the Eurostar Snow.
