Brides-les-Bains is the only one of the seven 3 Vallées destinations that is not a high-altitude resort. It is a spa village on the valley floor, described by the ski area’s own body as “human-sized” and set at the foot of the slopes. Its difference is not a presentational detail: it changes the nature of the arrival entirely.
No final climb
Where the high-altitude resorts impose a twenty- to forty-minute climb after Moûtiers, Brides is reached in about six kilometres along the valley floor on the D915 then the D90. No mountain road, no snow front to work around, and less exposure to winter conditions on the final stretch. For a late arrival, a tired traveller or a party with young children, that is a real advantage.
Skiing is reached by gondola, not by road
The Olympe gondola leaves from the village centre and reaches Méribel: according to the tourist office, the 3 Vallées ski area is twenty-two minutes away. Its opening dates are seasonal and published each year by the resort — and its hours are not ours. If your plans for the day depend on it, tell us: it can change the departure time we recommend.
