Private Transfer Geneva Airport → Orelle

Orelle is the special case of this first wave, and it is worth explaining before you book. The resort is attached to the 3 Vallées ski area, to which it is linked by gondola. Geographically, however, Orelle is not in the Tarentaise: it is a commune of the Maurienne.

In other words, Orelle’s membership of the 3 Vallées is a skiing fact, not a road fact. You do not reach it by climbing the valley that leads to Courchevel, Méribel or the Belleville resorts. It is another valley, another route, and a classic booking mistake.

Why this matters in practice

If you are staying in Orelle while the rest of your party is in Val Thorens, you share a ski area but not a road. Two separate transfers are then needed, and driving between the two is not a matter of minutes. We would rather say so at booking than discover it with you.

Conversely, if your stay is built around Orelle, arriving through the Maurienne may be an advantage depending on your flight and the date.

What the figures on this page are worth

The distance and journey time shown are measured on the public road network, from the Terminal 1 drop-off area at Geneva Airport to Orelle’s public reference point — its gondola station at Francoz — never to your accommodation. The time is free-flowing driving, excluding winter conditions, through the Maurienne: an indication, not a commitment. Traffic, weather and changeover Saturday all move it — your flight sets the departure time.
