Geneva → Megève

Megève is the shortest classic transfer from Geneva — and one of the few where the destination is a village centre rather than an altitude. The heart of Megève is partly pedestrian and the addresses that matter spread between the centre, Mont d’Arbois, Rochebrune and Le Jaillet; a chalet on the Mont d’Arbois side adds a final climb the town-centre hotels do not have.

Motorway almost throughout

The route is the least mountainous of the Geneva ski transfers: the A40 — the autoroute blanche — to the Sallanches exit, then thirteen kilometres up the D1212. That keeps the timing reliable outside Saturday peaks around Sallanches and snowy evenings on the final approach. Because the drive is short, tight connections are more realistic here than anywhere else in the Alps — but the margin still belongs in the plan, not in the driver’s right foot.

Arriving in Megève

Drop-off is at the hotel or chalet wherever the road allows; for the pedestrian core the driver stops at the closest authorised point and walks the luggage with you. Guests connecting to the Megève altiport for an onward flight are dropped directly there — set at booking so the timing accounts for the departure.
